What does a facilitator do?

Are you outgoing and resourceful? Do you love to help people in your environment? Are you familiar with your locality? Or do you have the connections to arrange/facilitate things in places outside of your usual locale? You could earn good money offering a service on Inspectionally as a Facilitator.

Get hired to plan, guide, research, source, arrange and manage things, events and work projects either in your locality or even in a different city or town using your knowledge and connections. Get well paid to help your clients identify their needs and creatively address them, and connect them to resources in your community.

As a facilitator, some of the things you will do include research of options; goods, services and location sourcing; communication with local vendors; price and terms negotiation; and progress monitoring, depending on what your client needs.

You will be the resource person relied upon to arrange things and take stumbling blocks away. In some cases, you will take on the advance party role to get things started, even before your client comes into town (if they are out of towners).

Other tasks you could facilitate are house or office moving, cleanups, parties, launches, events, exhibitions, expos, excursions, and tourism. The opportunities are almost endless, both from local or from out of town clients, depending on what they need.

What is required to offer this service?

If you are resourceful, a good listener, outgoing and friendly, and know your way around your community, you should sign up on Inspectionally and offer a service as a local facilitator. What are the qualities of a local facilitator? Be committed to your clients, be a problem solver, and be resourceful. Your attention to detail will be a huge advantage because you will be your client’s guide when he or she is absent. Remember the client’s satisfaction is paramount.

But I haven’t done this before. Am I qualified?

You may be more qualified than you give yourself credit for. Your resourcefulness and readiness to work make you an effective local facilitator. Your job is to provide insight, help, and solutions on projects for your clients. Some good examples of what you’ll be doing are helping source items, arranging things, liaising with third parties, helping move houses, supervising event setups, organizing events, and overseeing repairs and renovations. Honesty with clients and other actors you interact with is an important attribute, in order to build trust. You should also be capable of managing your time and giving clear instructions when delegating tasks to others to ensure the successful execution of the assigned tasks.

Is there a fee to sign up and offer a service?

Signing up and creating a service is absolutely free. There is no fee at all, and it gets better: we are there to help you throughout the service-creating process, should you need assistance. We will hold your hand and walk you through the registration and service-creation process to ensure you get the best chance of being hired.

No need to pay for a subscription, nor are there any hidden charges. Inspectionally only gets a small percentage of what buyers pay for your services (we believe you’d understand our need to pay staff and be able to provide and maintain the platform).

How much will you earn?

What you can earn depends entirely on you and how you choose to price your offer. Depending on the client’s requirement or need, you may choose to charge by the hour or a flat fee. Some examples: Jane may charge $30/hr with a minimum of 4 hours of engagement. Mary may charge $60/hr with a minimum of 3 hours of engagement. John, on the other hand, may charge a flat fee of $300 for an 8-hour engagement. All these are just examples to explain the point. You will charge exactly how you prefer, taking into account your time and effort.
